Club or country which do you prefer in Football and why?

I prefer country because it is more fun and I found Euro 2008 more fun than watching the UEFA Champions League this year.

I like both.

Everytime I've seen this question posed, 99% of people say club.

I'm another one of those however, that prefer country. I've been fortunate to see both my club and country experience great success. Personally, it's a greater feeling seeing Italy win a World Cup than Milan a Champions League. People can support any old club, whereas it's far more difficult (and rare) to support a country other than your own.

Club because maybe there's a greater alleigance there that you don't get with international football the same. I suppose it depends where you are in the world.

 I love them just as much but the other 5 million people in Scotland would be raging if I was to take away the world cup just so St Mirren could win the Champions League.

watching a world or european championship is nice i love to see all games and pick a favourite

but if they lose well hey ...

But my club is deeper and more personal

Not at all. For example Man Utd now have more "fans" in Asia than they have in England, you don't get that with international football. Your connection then is  pride in your fellow countrymen representing your country. 

United have more fans in Asia than in England due to the fact it is a continent and the club is very popular over there. What I meant was the fact that club teams always stay with you. That's just my opinion like I said it depends where you are in the world, where the view will be different.

I agree entirely. It's a tribal thing too.

It's just a huge shame I support Aberdeen.

I prefer watching club football at the moment because it's killing me watching the dross that England turn out at the moment, that being said there is not a better feeling, when watching the match in the pub, than rather two sets of rival fans and some neutrals enjoying a game, everyone is united, chanting and kicking every ball with the team

yeah we've just had a loveley example off that in Bejing with Roy Mackaay

I'so happy he picks the olympics 4 Holland above Feyenoord...

He will be just missing the first 6 weeks orso,of wich the classic at home against our arch-rivals

Mackaay isn;t Feyenoord but i think players should choose thereselves

Back than(uefa-cup 2002)Hooydonk and Bosvelt said to Advocaat(coach)they prefered the last two rounds off the uefa cup

above Oranje in an easy(if there any)poule for qualifying wc 2002...

since the both off them hardly played (and the relation between Feyenoord and Oranje has never been well)

I'm still thankfull 4 that as they both knew there was more glory to get than in the qualifying...
